Distribution Planner (J8660) - Central Bristol - 12 FTC (maternity cover) - GBP25-GBP28k per annum

Our client is an exciting and innovative design organisation, working within niche markets to provide products which engage and educate their customers! As a market leader, they have a fantastic reputation, selling on an international basis.

They are looking for an experienced individual with supply chain experience, to know how things 'should' run rather than necessarily how they 'do currently' work, ideally having practical knowledge of UK retail customers and understands the considerations involved in supplying product to those kind of customers.

It is a role that requires a huge amount of lateral management, enabling teams based country wide to be working together effectively, especially when busy. This role is relatively new to the team and was created to be the middle man and coordinate all teams involved.

The role is responsible for managing all sales order scheduling by working hand in hand with the sales and sales administration teams at Head Office as well as additional teams

Responsibilities:

- Act as the primary interface between UK sales teams in the Bristol Head Office and additional teams UK wide
- Work with the distribution teams to effectively schedule all customer deliveries on a week-by-week basis, taking into account available stock and replenishments, commercial priorities and individual customer booking and delivery requirements.
- Assist distribution teams in booking and coordinating all international shipping.
- Work with the Operations Manager on improving the effectiveness of our current system for communication and reporting.
- Own the continual improvement process currently in place to track and investigate all delivery errors or queries from customers.
- Measure and report on delivery performance to our customers, non-conformance fines and causes.
- Work with the Operations Manager on department projects.
- Maintain SLA's and performance from distribution teams.
- Cultivate excellent cross-department relationships, especially between Sales and Operations

What you will need:

- Proven experience with retail customers and relationship building
- Supply chain management experience
- Knowledge of international logistics and shipping
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams whilst developing and maintaining internal relationships.
- Ability to communicate and convey information that alters perceptions at all levels of the business.
