About the Role

This role is for a full time position; however we welcome part time applicants.

Are you a qualified, HCPC registered social worker with at least 3 years post registration experience as a social worker in a social care or multi-agency community setting?

Exciting new changes are happening at East Surrey Social Care Team in Redhill to improve patient experience through timely discharges.

Our role is to assess to discharge residents of Surrey in a safe and timely manner. You will be closely working within a multi disciplinary team and will always be working within a whole system approach. You will be an excellent communicator, motivated, supportive, flexible, creative and a team player. You will have or develop a passion for hospital social work and thrive on a fast pace working environment and feel positive in making a difference to people's lives.

You will work a flexible shift pattern across 7 days a week, Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and Sat and Sun 9am-5pm with your future colleagues who are friendly and very supportive. In return we will fully support you in becoming the professional you want to be by providing regular supervision, essential training matrix linked to your role and we hold regular team meetings. As a new starter we offer a three week mandatory induction programme too.

You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation and its application to practice in a social care setting.

An applied knowledge of The Mental Capacity Act and experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries is essential alongside experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions.

You will be able to communicate in a clear, fluent, concise and jargon free way and in a courteous, calm and professional manner.

You will have experience of, and be able to provide, professional, reflective supervision, guidance and advice to less experienced social workers, including those completing ASYE and social work students.

Experience of working with various groups i.e older adults, physical disability, learning disability
Recognised Social work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or approved equivalent, BA Hons Social Work or other relevant degree in Social Work)
Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Experience of supervising less experienced qualified staff
