Process Technician - PCB
Role Overview:
To support the Process Engineering team by helping to ensure production lines are running efficiently and are supported, investigating new process methods, updating and creating drawings and ordering new and replacement tooling.
The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include:
To be responsible for the overall process within the defined area supported ensuring that:
- The process is safe and complies with company H&S guidelines.
- Process standards are fully understood so that the staff, Engineers and Management are clear as to what the capabilities are.
- The line is optimised producing the most that it is capable of with minimal downtime.
- Production data (Productivity, Utilisation, DPMO) is recorded and reviewed regularly to measure actual performance vs expected performance with plans in place to address shortfalls.
- Provide efficient support to production lines as needed.
- Support NPI by closely monitoring builds, updating records and following through on open actions to completion.
- Ensuring that quality (Yield, DPMO) and productivity data is up to date and is being acted upon.
- Support Quality team by highlighting problem parts with defect rates and suggested improvements.
- Involvement in lean based projects.
Qualifications, Experience and profile:
- Ideally an ONC in Engineering or a NQF (National Qualification Framework Level 3) or commitment to work towards this.
- 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of process improvement (Yield, DPMO, Productivity).
- Experience of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
