As a member of the School Management Team, the Engineering Training Manager will have responsibility for Work Based Learning associated HE provision and the development of commercial work in the School of Engineering.

Working in conjunction with the Head of School and the relevant Deputy Head/Heads of Section, you will follow up incoming WBL/Commercial development enquiries and manage the curriculum and relevant staff to ensure our clients receive the best possible experience. Maintaining and developing effective relationships with both existing and new employers in the Engineering sector, you will proactively seek out, develop and manage commercial full cost opportunities and be able to advise on technical content/options and appropriate flexible delivery schemes dependent on the client’s needs and requirements whilst ensuring current delivery is of the highest quality.

Keeping abreast of all apprenticeship frameworks/standards in Engineering as well as monitoring programmes to ensure that outstanding timely and overall success rates are achieved, you will work closely with the Business and Commercial Development division to develop and secure new business.

They are looking for an individual who has substantial relevant teaching experience and who has demonstrable leadership and management skills in the context of curriculum and staff development. With a degree or appropriate professional qualification in an area relevant to work based learning, you will be registered with the Institute for Learning (IfL) and be recognised as a good or better teacher.

With a proven track record of improving and managing a high quality curriculum and experience of successfully leading change, you will have the ability to lead and work with teams and be able to identify training and development needs for both teaching and support teams.
