Stores Operative / Van Driver - Industrial Products Southampton   The Company: Our client is a leading independent distributor of industrial products. Their main product ranges are; hand and power tools, abrasives, welding products, janitorial products, lubricants, protective clothing, corporate and casual clothing, fasteners, storage equipment, adhesive tapes and paint. They offer a one-stop-shop daily delivery service to central southern England and by over-night carrier to national customers. The Job Description:

An interesting and varied job. You will be required to perform various duties associated with the position of stores person.

Duties will include:

• Receiving and checking deliveries and putting the goods away.
• Receipting goods onto the computer system.
• Picking orders of miscellaneous industrial products from the store and shop areas.
• Packing up parcels for despatch.
• Keeping the stores area clean and tidy.
• Production of Returns documentation.
• Occasional stock checking and order picking may be required.
• Occasional heavy lifting up to 20 kgs is involved.
• Coverage of the van drivers holidays, including deliveries to The Refinery (security licence will need to be issued).

Training will be given in all aspects of the job.

The Reward:

• Hours 8.00am–5.00pm Monday to Friday.
• 1 hour lunch break. 40 hours per week.
• Pay £7.50 per hour.
• A bonus scheme is in place for all employees who have completed six months continuous employment.
• Our client’s staff purchase scheme makes available their range of products at cost price.

The Requirements:

• The successful applicant will be fit, reliable, motivated and capable of working in an accurate, efficient and tidy manner.
• Over 25 years of age and hold a full driving licence for at least 1 year (van insurance requirement).
• Some basic knowledge of industrial products will be an advantage.
