Our client is one of the UK’s largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five sites, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire.

Working at their Deeside site, the Deputy Director will provide effective leadership and management of a defined range of curriculum and enrichment areas relating to Engineering learning opportunities both at further and higher education levels.  

The Deputy Director will be required to ensure that the curriculum provision is innovative, developmental and sector leading whilst meeting the needs of learners, employers and other stakeholders. Promoting a culture of excellence and equal opportunity, the Deputy Director will ensure the curriculum provision is of the highest possible quality in terms of learner outcomes, positive progression and learner, staff and employer satisfaction.

In order to be successful in this role, candidates must be educated to degree level, hold a relevant professional qualification and a recognised teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or City & Guilds 7407.  A master’s level qualification (or equivalent) would also be highly desirable. With experience of working within the Further Education and Higher Education sector (or with other relevant specialist experience), the successful applicant will have a good understanding of funding mechanisms, curriculum planning, quality assurance, the use of ILT in teaching and learning, the Common Inspection Framework and a wide range of teaching and learning methodologies.  

The Deputy Director is required to develop and implement policies and operational strategies.  Therefore, those who hold a Management qualification and who have experience of leading a team within the Education sector are advantageous.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable.

A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position and you be required to register with the Education Workforce Council.
