F&B Accountant need to be part of a rapidly expanding restaurant group. They are well established in London and our head office is based in Putney, south-west London.
Currently operating from six restaurants in London we are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
They require a Food & Beverage Accountant to join our established accounts department. The role’s primary responsibility is the maintenance, daily running, update and audit of the running of the POS software and the stock management system within the group.
You will be working as a liaison between the Executive Chef, the restaurants directly and most closely with the accounts department.
We have developed with Oracle (Micros) an up to date and sophisticated platform for delivering up to the minute sales reports as well as linked stock management.
Key responsibilities:
-Ensure that all stock record systems are accurate and up to date
-Audit requisitions and issues of all outlets and highlight any inaccuracies.
-Ensure that all receivable costs from outside suppliers for both the kitchens and bars are processed speedily and held ready for rapid percentage computation
-Ensure that all transfers from within the business for both the kitchens and bars are processed speedily and held ready for rapid percentage computation
-Ensure that all computer input is effected daily at restaurant level
-Ensure that weekly stock takes are carried out - be responsible for all Food and Beverage stock takes in all outlets with the relevant Heads of Department and provide closing stock figures
-Submit weekly and monthly reports and identify possible reasons when results differ from anticipated targets
-Compile monthly revenue reports showing when controls are effective or highlighting appropriate action in the event of adverse results
-Ensure that the prices entered in programmed points of sale computers are correct and updated when necessary
-Ensure that menus are costed regularly
-Compile with the collaboration of the Executive Chef a list of product specifications for suppliers and to keep such a list regularly updated
-Undertake any other duties relative to the Food and Beverage control function as may be directed
-Ensure that variances that occur are reported and acted upon
-Maintain the Food and Beverage Management system
-Monitor daily wastage
-Investigate and report on any and all Food and Beverage cost variances and stipulate recommendations.
Candidate Qualifications
-minimum of two year's experience working in a similar role for a multi-site restaurant group.
-Proficient knowledge of general accountancy principles
-Accounting qualification

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts and their application with the ability to understand and interpret financial information and reports, identifying trends and variances and communicating them to different audiences with differing levels of understanding.
Remuneration will be £25,000 upwards depending on experience and skill base.
