My client are an innovative, technology based, document management consultancy that provide a range of document control systems to their clients in the NHS and Local Government. They are currently working with 360 Resourcing Solutions to recruit a Patient Correspondence Specialist, to join them at their Bristol Offices.

Reporting to the Executive Support Manager for Technical Operations, you will be working within a team who will convert medical letters into Plain English wording.

You will be working as part of a new and exciting project which aims to provide all patients across the UK with communication in a format that they are able to understand and interpret, regardless of any disability, impairment or sensory loss they may have. My client is working alongside NHS England to seek to create a dramatic improvement in the ability of the NHS and adult social care system to meet the information and communication support needs of all their patients.

You will work on new correspondence projects for NHS Trusts and healthcare organisations from around the country, as well as carrying out ongoing maintenance to ensure the quality is kept to a high standard as our customers update their letters.

Principle Activities

- Reading the context of medical letters
- Analysing the content of each paragraph and considering an appropriate plain English version
- Collaborating with the team to help build our library of plain English wording
- Using newly developed software to identify new wording and construct templates
- Escalating any issues or queries to the Executive Support Manager
- Provide regular updates on progress

Education

- Minimum 5 GCSE including minimum Grade 'B' or equivalent in English Language

- Further qualifications in English would be advantageous
