Job Summary:
QuEST Development NX Model Engineers are responsible for specifying and controlling the EBoM (Engine Bill of Material) for new civil gas turbine designs being run on development test beds in Derby and around the world.
Example duties of the Development NX Model Engineer are shown below:
- Creation and update of EBoM (Engine Bill of Material) for the customer's Development Engineering team
- Update of solutions and part numbers in the EBoM to match fast-changing VRS vehicle build requirements.
- Elimination of PLM TeamCenter related assembly clashes and mismatches by raising issues to the respective teams and progressing issues to successful resolution
- Comparison of the EBoM and VRS definitions to generate error reports using Excel macro tools provided.
- Adding NX models to new or modified development parts.
- Creating SAP Viewer Models for shopfloor use during engine assembly.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
Candidates are expected to be computer literate in MS Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.
Modelling experience required: previous NX or other CADDs modelling experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry is preferred, but not essential. PLM TeamCenter, mainframe, SAP and/or PDM experience would be advantageous.
