What it's about
The Digital and New Product Development team is a recently formed department responsible for Cambridge English's digital learning and teaching products. We aim to use the latest emerging digital tech and pedagogies to teach the world to speak English. We collaborate with a diverse range of experts, companies and academic departments with a dream of creating world leading digital learning experiences on mobile and the web, touching millions of lives.
What you'll be doing
Help us make a difference to millions of learners across the globe! You will be leading the system architecture, technical development and design of our emerging digital learning and assessment products. These build across a broad stack of mobile and web technologies (iOS, Android, HTML5) and back ends (Node, php, java), and aim to deliver amazing learning experiences across a diverse range of online learning applications and services.
Your team already lead the development of digital learning and testing products used by 5m students a year. These include products like Quiz Your English , Free online courses (MOOCs) , VR and 360 degree videos and TheDigitalTeacher . For more of our emerging projects please click here .
You will work closely with Cambridge Assessment's technology teams, as well as external suppliers to ensure that we continually innovate and improve our use of EdTech while at the same time maximising benefits for learning, and for our wider business.
What we're looking for
You will need to have extensive experience in a technical leadership and software architectural role, designing, and developing consumer-ready mobile / web applications. You will have a proven track record in modern, web-based system architecture and learning systems design, and be skilled in deployment of global, web- or mobile-based platforms at scale, covering native app development, mobile web development and backend platform development. You will possess energy, drive, enthusiasm and determination, be a good team player, be able to think strategically and manage ambiguity in a complex, fast-paced environment.
