Grade D: £21,220-£25,298 per annum

You will work as part of a team providing technical support in the mechanical engineering department in the School of Engineering & Sustainable Development. This will include supporting staff and students at all levels and in both teaching and research activities. You will be familiar in the use of machine tools, and will be expected to demonstrate the correct use of machining processes, the setting up and demonstration of experimental apparatus to groups of students and assisting with the day-to-day running of the Mechanical Engineering laboratories/workshop.

You will be knowledgeable of current Health & Safety (H&S) requirements and will be expected to comply with regulations at all times, promoting H&S at faculty/university level. You will also be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across the University as and when required. You will be qualified to HNC or equivalent level in an engineering subject, and to have
an apprenticeship would be desirable. Previous experience of working in the field of mechanical engineering including experience of typical engineering processes such as milling, turning and welding is essential.
