ARGYLE Community Trust is looking to recruit a sports tutor and support coach. The position is a dual role working with Argyle Community Trust focusing on our Post 16 Education provision and initiatives in Cornwall.
The position will be based in Redruth. However, at times, you may need to work outside of the area boundary dependent on the demands of the programmes.
As a registered charity, Argyle Community Trust works in close conjunction with Plymouth Argyle Football Club, reaching people across several sectors where sport has proven to be the ideal tool for creating lasting education and engagement with individuals.
The candidate will provide quality teaching and learning for vocational courses, including BTEC Level 2 & 3 sports programmes, primarily working on the Post 16 Football Scholarship programme. The role will require delivery on both the education and practical side of the course and will include regular liaison with parents and guardians of the students on the course, as well as the relevant departments within the Football Club.
The post holder will be responsible for the Post 16 Football Development Programme in Redruth and will be responsible for the recruitment of future students, attendance at training days and meetings set up by any partner organisations related to this scholarship programme. In addition to this, the lead staff member will also line manage the coaching team for this specific programme and co-ordinate the football programme.
There is also a requirement for the Lead Sport Tutor and Coach to have either qualified teaching status, be working towards this accreditation or be qualified to degree level in a sport-related theme or have relevant teaching experience.
The post is full time and is offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract
