Here at The Elms in Edinburgh, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to build on the success of this service. Located in Morningside, The Elms supports 40 residents within our listed Victorian mansion set in extensive grounds. As a specialist dementia service, this an opportunity for an existing manager to take on more responsibility in a larger care home or for someone keen to use their substantial knowledge and experience of dementia to take a leading a role.

In this varied position, you will have the autonomy to run the service on a day-to-day basis, while bringing in new ideas and contributing to the wider organisation’s strategy.  You’ll have insight into what makes our place tick, and how to keep everything running smoothly, making sure that our positive multi-disciplinary team continues to work closely together.

We’re proud of our innovative work so experience of recruiting and leading a team in a similar care environment is expected.  Building effective networks with people will be key, together with a confident approach to managing a busy workload. You will already have an SVQ Level IV in Social Care (or equivalent social care or nursing qualification) and have or be working towards a management qualification or qualifications that meet the requirement of registration with the SSSC.

In return, you can look forward to ongoing training and development - not only so you can do a great job, but to help you build your career with us too. There’s also an excellent benefits package that includes an employer contributory pension and generous holiday allowance.

What’s more, you will be part of one of Scotland’s largest voluntary social work organisations. At CrossReach, we offer quality care and counselling to a wide range of people in need. But the real story of CrossReach is the work that our staff do: reaching out and making a real difference to the lives of others. If you’d like to join them, we look forward to hearing from you.

Applicants are required to have a Christian commitment and be able to uphold our Christian Ethos, which is an Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010. This post is subject to PVG Scheme Membership.

Closing date: 30th April 2017.
