Qualified HGV Technician
Weeks 1-2 = Earlies AND Weeks 3-4 = Lates
GBP14.00 per hour
Any time worked over 42.5 hours is at GBP21.00 per hour

Company:
We are recruiting on behalf of a client based in Brighton. The company has been established for over 40 years and is a leading competitor in its industry. The company sells new and used commercial vehicles from all six of their depots across the UK; they also offer other services such as servicing and breakdown cover. This is a great opportunity for a qualified HGV Technician to join a modern and busy Workshop, based in Brighton.
Experience required:
• You must have previous HGV technical experience and be qualified to level three (NVQ/City & Guilds)
• You will be required to have a stable main dealer background
• Ideally (but not essentially) with experience of IVECO trucks
• You must have knowledge of modern diagnostic systems
• Someone with Roadside experience again would be preferential
We are looking for a team player to fill this role who will be flexible and able to work to tight deadlines and be able to adopt a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role to ensure continued high levels of work are carried out right first time.
The main duties include:
• Carrying out inspection, servicing, repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner
• Investigate and diagnose faults
• Report findings
• Carry out all repairs to the current manufacturers standards
• Planning work, managing diagnostics
• Carry out all repairs to the highest standards and with the most effective use of time
Additional information:
• Hours are: Weeks 1-2 = Mon-Fri 7:30 am to 5:00 pm (with 1 hour break)
• Week 3- 4 = Night shift 4:30 pm to 2:00 am (with 1 hour break)
• 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 7:30 am to 1:00 pm (although this can be negotiated on so please don't be put off by it)
• 20 days holiday per annum + stats
• Contributory pension after 3 months probation
• Additional overtime is available to boost earnings, paid at time and a half (GBP21.00 per hour)
