LOCATION: Portsmouth
JOB TITLE: Form Teacher
SALARY & BENEFITS: Generous salary structure supplemented by payment of an additional allowance.
WORKING HOURS: Full Time, from September 2017 or January 2018
THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth.
THE ROLE: Your role, if successful as a Form Teacher within the Junior School will be responsible for the academic and pastoral provision for a Junior (KS2) Form. You will teach the children for some of their lessons but will also teach other Forms and year groups. You will play an active role in the House System and if possible support the Boys' Games programme.
Key duties/responsibilities of a Form Teacher to include:-
Set high standards of classroom organisation, management and practice
Develop and use a range of appropriate styles of teaching to facilitate the learning process for all pupils in his/her care
Within staff teams, prepare and use long, medium and short term planning based on the schemes of work, to deliver an effective teaching programme across the primary range
Provide a teaching programme which meet pupils' individual needs within the School's Connected Curriculum
Plan, monitor, and assess each pupil's progress
Plan for and deliver the values and thinking skills embedded within the Connected Curriculum
THE CANDIDATE: The successful Form Teacher will be a committed and enthusiastic professional. Ideally you will have an interest and experience in teaching Boys' Games. You must live within a commutable distance to Portsmouth.
Key experience essential for the role of Form Teacher:-
Good knowledge and understanding of the designated learning phase and therefore be able to teach across the age range of that phase
Be prepared to take part in staff meetings, open days, twilight sessions and training days
A fully qualified Teacher
