Mechanical Design Engineer – Role & Responsibilities:

My clients food processing machinery department produces a range of food processing & packaging machines and food conveyors that are designed and built to the highest standards. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks) to join their existing team. 

Bespoke systems are planned and built around their customers’ needs. The job holder will have responsibility for interpreting bespoke customer requirements into appropriate and cost effective engineering projects that can be fabricated by the engineering workshop team and which support lean manufacturing processes. The job holder is required to ensure the smooth development throughout the project through to product completion, installation and handover to customer.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Person Specification:

The ideal candidate should:

• Have a proven working experience of CAD design using Solidworks
• Have a proven experience of engineering project planning and execution 
• Have previous experience of working in an engineering environment 
• Have a proven ability to work off of own initiative
• Possess excellent communication skills

Previous experience of working in a food machinery/conveyor build engineering environment would be an advantage as would a relevant engineering qualification.
