We are currently recruiting on behalf of a market leading Financial Services/Fintech organisation who are seeking an IT Support Analyst to join their IT team to be based out of their Guernsey office. You'll have the opportunity to work with an experienced technical team of people providing the full range of IT. infrastructure support (desktops Servers, virtual and physical environments), for a company willing to train and develop you (eg external technical qualifications).

Title: IT Support Analyst/Infrastructure Support.

Type: Permanent Appointment.
Salary: cGBP30,000 - GBP35,000 pa neg on experience + bonus & benefits. (accommodation provided)

SKILLS:
This role requires proactive candidates with drive, energy & a passion for IT and technology with commercial experience within an IT related role. Excellent communication skills are essential as is a desire & ability to learn.

Technical:
Experience of Windows 7 desktop & Windows 2008/2012 Server, server & Workstation hardware, PowerShell, Perl, backup infrastructure, Linux infrastructure, networking & major desktop applications such as MS Office will all be of benefit, but experience in all of them is not essential.

While the client has high academic hiring standards & prefers candidates with a 2:1 degree, if you do not have a degree but have good IT experience & the right attitude then they very much want to talk to you. With or without a degree all successful candidates will need a desire to use technology, new concepts & ideas to solve complicated problems.

The Role:
This role is more than straightforward IT support; from day one you will be dealing with a broad range of technologies in Guernsey and Jersey - flying back and forth to resolve IT/infrastructure issues as they arise. You will take responsibility for looking after IT systems and responding to trading critical alerts.

Other issues will require a lot of thought and technical skill, including but not limited to:
* Monitoring complex in-house systems.
* Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange management.
* VMware ESX virtual infrastructure.
* Desktop PC upgrades & deployments.
* Server upgrades & deployments.
* Server & Workstation hardware, diagnostics & repair.
* Software upgrades, including trading & general infra applications.
* Backup infrastructure & disaster recovery plans.
* Automated software packaging & build system.
* Create Perl scripts & PowerShell cmdlets to automate daily tasks.

There are excellent future opportunities to work with senior systems administrators in many specialist sub-teams. Example projects can range from rolling out VMware ESX & virtual infrastructure for a remote office to improving environment monitoring systems in datacentres.
