YOUR TASK


Key Accountabilities:

The primary function of this role is to be a senior member of a team responsible for all Procurement across client and own business activities in the UK in line with corporate & UK Procurement policies including (but not limited to) the delivery of savings, best value and internal control.

The main activities are:

To liaise with all managers and business areas in relevant procurement and commercial activities.Work in and /or lead procurement and multi-disciplinary teams that formulate demand for hardware, software and services both for existing clients and potential clients in bid situations; and carry out all related commercial and procurement activities that involve 3rd party suppliers including RFI, RFP, RFQ, tender workshops, balanced scorecard evaluations and contract award.To manage arrange of existing commercial relationships including negotiation to achieve best value and mitigate business risk.To liaise and collaborate with International Sourcing & Procurement to maximise global leverage for T-SystemsTo ensure that all national & international Procurement processes are applied in the business and local and international compliance laws relating to 3rd party contracts and companies are followed.To recommend and implement improvements to process or systems.Ad-hoc activities required to support the Procurement Team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for large procurement volumes for a very extensive, complex merchandise category.Sets up, controls and establishes a global procurement networks with Group-wide coordination and establishes global procurement activities.Negotiation management (including Request for Proposal and eAuctions) and selection of strategically important main suppliers (including internationally)Conclusion of complex agreements, e.g., best-in-class framework agreements, of strategic and/or economic importance for the company.Implementing processes and systems that enable and encourage best practice.Using DTAG/TSI global agreements to leverage pricing and service delivery in the UK and internationally where required.Delivering significant savings, efficiencies and improvements on customer supply contracts.Initiating, tendering, negotiating and implementing advantageous local and international contracts and agreements.Providing information on alternatives and options to management in respect of current supply contracts in order to enhance pricing, service levels and measures.Providing post contract supplier relationship management including, where appropriate, quantitative measurement of performance to agreed SLAs.Providing full purchasing support to the sales team in order to maximise the success rate of new bids. This will include providing, where appropriate, a number of sourcing and financing options to enhance customer perception of T-Systems as a leading-edge and flexible service provider.Assisting in the professional integration of new outsourcing contracts in order to mitigate risk and provide best value.Ensuring compliance with software license agreements by carrying out regular reviews of the TSL estate and adjusting support/update agreements as necessary.Promoting a culture of best practice, continuous improvement, flexibility and change in line with corporate values and competencies.Provide reporting on areas of supply chain activity they are responsible for to Procurement management.Actively participate in international forums, projects and development as required.Active adjustment, development and implementation of strategies and concepts for increasing efficiency and effectiveness.Escalation level for Delivery, Customer Account and Sales problems and incidents relating to third party supplier issues.Representation and evaluation of the competitive situation in comparison with the market as well as internal and external benchmarking.Ensures conformity at all times with internal and external compliance rules.Manages strategic and complex projects in a national/international context.Development, coordination and introduction of reporting, information and monitoring systems and processes where required or appropriate.Represents Procurement at (top) management level in meetings, bodies and forums.Manages the procurement stream within the customer project/ SPOC (single point of contact) for Procurement.

YOUR PROFILE


Skills & Experience Required:

Education to degree level and/or comprehensive commercial experience, part of which should have been in a supply chain environment with a demonstrable track record of delivering quantifiable results.

At least 3 example of participation in, or leadership of, a major project.

Professional: membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply would be desirable

A proven track record in any of the following:Procurement IT/Telco/General as appropriateComplex contract management.Logistics.IT Asset management especially in the field of software licensing.All aspects of vendor management and relationships.Change implementation and managementKnowledge of UK and EU legal requirements and contract law in respect of Procurement.Have superior inter-personal communication skills with the ability to present cogently to a variety of audiences up to divisional management level.The ability to motivate and influence a diverse group of internal customers.The ability to manage strategic relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers, industry and trade associations.Understanding of the complex channels to market of the supplier base and awareness of the implications to TSL.Working knowledge of a large ERP system (procurement, inventory management, materials management elements)
