Chair of Trustees - Groundwork MSSTT
Do you share our passion for championing environmental regeneration?
Do you get a real sense of fulfilment by helping people achieve their potential?
If so, we would love to hear from you, as we are looking to appoint a new Chair to lead us into the next exciting phase of our development, joining a motivated and engaged Board of Trustees, initially for a three year period.
Financially secure and with strong aspirations to sustainably grow the scale of our activity, Groundwork has been changing places and changing lives in Greater Manchester and Lancashire for more than 30 years. A respected and well established player in the city region, we are a passionate and focussed social enterprise and registered charity and our vision is very simple: To improve the quality of life and opportunities for people in neighbourhoods most in need. We deliver this vision in many different ways - whether that's coaching and mentoring young people; helping businesses to improve their environmental credentials; creating stunning community spaces or supporting ex-offenders back into employment.
As part of a national federation, working with communities, businesses and a wide range of partners, we create stimulating green spaces, improve people's prospects and promote greener living and working.
A confident and experienced operator, comfortable working at a senior level, the successful candidate will share our ethos; provide focus and leadership for the wider Board and be an effective advocate for our work. In return we offer the opportunity for the right person to hone their skills at Board level; gain a wider knowledge of the social enterprise sector and enhance their networking opportunities.
To complement our existing Board, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with strong commercial acumen and a good understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Value.
