Asset Manager - Housing Association

A reputable housing association with c.8500 properties based Bedfordshire requires a permanent Asset Manager to oversee and manage responsive contracts, planned/cyclical maintenance, refurbishment/upgrade works and new homes development.

The role

??Deliver an Asset Service that addresses the needs of our assets today and supports the delivery of investment programmes in line with the associations Asset Management Strategy.
??Work closely with development partners to provide new homes for the future.
??Lead the good governance and compliance of the associations assets.
??Use procurement as a method of driving better services at best cost with the maximum social value measures.
??Manage and control budgets and expenditure.
??Work with leadership and management across a range of activities.
??Manage and developing surveyors.
??Budgetary and financial responsibility to deliver business plans and projects.
??Procurement of contractors and building partnerships with consultants.
??Manage risk and compliance.
??Knowledge of construction/health and safety legislation and regulations.
??Knowledge of construction/health and safety legislation and regulations.

Education and Qualifications

??Educated to degree level
??Hold a professional qualification MRICS or MCIOB
??Post qualification in building / construction / development delivery
??Track record of continuous personal / professional development
Knowledge and Experience
??Significant experience in Development Management including experience of new build residential and retail/commercial construction
??Experience of undertaking inspections for quality control purposes and overseeing clerk of works and quality assurance functions
??Knowledge and understanding of current developments in building technology
??Awareness of policy and regulatory frameworks applicable to development management in the social/affordable housing environment
??Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of construction techniques
??Experience of effective risk identification and risk management (including Health & Safety implications)
??Experience of dealing with contracts along with proven ability to liaise with and manage/monitor contractors
??Demonstrable experience of new build development issues
??Good awareness of budget management; including monitoring and reporting
