Camp Manager - Oxford

Summary of Position:

The role of Centre Manager (CM) is to oversee the day-to-day running of the centre. The CM is responsible for managing and implementing the company's policies and procedures and overseeing all areas of a Varsity residential course. The main aim of the programme is to achieve full integration between International and British children, who will also be attending camp.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Be the first port of call for all centre staff including Activity Instructors and TEFL teachers
Liaise with head office staff (Operations Manager and Academic Manager) to ensure the centre runs smoothly in all areas
Rota all staff for activities to ensure supervision ratios are kept to at all times
Act as a representative of the company to the host school, dealing with problems as they arise through liaising with the host college, and head office where appropriate
Implement weekly activity and excursion programmes. Manage on-site finances and maintain an up to date spreadsheet of on-site budget
At all times behave in a manner that reflects the expectations of Varsity International
Show the required energy, enthusiasm and professionalism for the duration of the season, acting as an ambassador for Varsity International and behaving as a suitable role model for children

Requirements:


Experience of residential management positions, preferably in a summer school/ language school
Experience working with international students preferred
Degree
Flexible, team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges on camp


Hours: Centre Managers receive one day off per week on average. The nature of the job requires Centre Managers to be flexible and willing to address situations whenever they arise. Hours can be unsocial and may include early/late starts and split shifts. Centre Managers must remain on call in their accommodation buildings at night time except on their days off.

Competitive rates of pay: Plus food and accommodation provided on site

Contract: Seasonal work available in Summer School Holidays
