Job Description

Job title: Landscape Team Leaders, soft landscaping AND Fencing Team leaders required

Permanent/Full-time

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Various sites and contracts throughout the region, company office, yard and other business locations.

Primary Purpose of the role

Lead landscaping and or fencing tasks , contracts on various sites, managing a team of operatives to complete a range horticultural work.
Work with Operations Manager to deliver a high quality horticultural service.
Align with Operations Manager to plan and maintain landscape clients' sites.

Key
Responsibilities

Lead landscaping projects including:

Landscape maintenance - lawn care, hedge care, plant care, pruning, tree care
Ecology and wildlife projects
Preparing ground and sowing seed
Preparing ground and laying turf
Shrub planting
Tree and hedge planting
Simple hard landscaping projects
Fencing all types

Lead, supervise and instruct a team

Ensures safety of team at all times
Instruct, motivate and guide the team
Provide support, reassurance and encouragement
Ensure appropriate PPE is used
Promote a work environment that instils the company ethos

Health & Safety

Complies with own and company's legal responsibilities for H&S
Understands the importance of risk assessment; completes paperwork
Ensures team compliance with measures to reduce risk and limit hazards
Uses all appropriate PPE
Ensure safe working practice and use of PPE within the team
Aware of requirements of the company's H&S policy

Person Specification

Qualifications, skills and experience

Essential

Full, clean drivers licence
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Motivated, organised and efficient
Willing to learn
Prepared to work Bank Holidays and Weekends as required

Preferred

Horticultural/soft landscaping experience and knowledge of leading contracts
Experience of using hand and power tools, equipment and machinery
Care and maintenance of power tools, equipment and machinery
Experience of driving minibuses
Experience of towing trailers
Experience in managing and motivating small teams
First aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
