As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking full lifecycle software development and product support as well as for the implementation and maintenance of company technical standards, and it is envisaged that the successful candidate will have attained a Software Engineering degree or similar and demonstrated at least 2 years' commercial experience gained within a software development environment.
You will be skilled in programming using C++/C#, .NET framework, VB, VBA, SQL, HTML, JavaScript and PHP and will possess database design and creation experience for SQL & MS access. With both the capability and appetite to learn new software and skills required to perform the role, you will thrive within a busy environment where multi-tasking and effective time management are essential skills for success, with knowledge of networks, including Industrial Ethernet, fibre optics, RS232/485 and OPC providing distinctly advantageous. Additionally, knowledge and skills in the development of SCADA and PLC architectures and of working within and setting up virtualised systems will prove particularly beneficial, as will a basic knowledge of computer architecture and low voltage electrical design.
