Procurement Business Partner - Social Care
Working on behalf of a local authority, Aatom Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Business Partner with experience from a Social Care setting. This position will be on a three monthly rolling basis paying from GBP21.85 per hour for 37 hour working week; which is equivalent to GBP42,039.40 salary. There might be scope for some negotiation for experienced candidates. This falls inside IR35 but umbrella rates available from GBP25 per hour.
JOB TITLE: Procurement Business Partner
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Procurement
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
As a member of the Contracts, Commissioning and Procurement Division, the ideal candidate for this role will possess proven experience within procurement with the ability to provide clear and well-informed advice on procurement to all parts of the client, including advice on specification, description, availability, cost and manner of obtaining goods, works and services. Candidates will ideally have knowledge on procuring services within Social Care or possess knowledge of this arena whilst also being a confident communicator able to liaise with senior management and stakeholders on a regular basis.
Responsibilities include the following:-
- To provide a professional procurement service for the strategic procurement of a good rage of goods, services and works, which meet the needs of the council and progressively achieve cost savings and other targeted benefits?
- Provide professional advice and guidance to internal customers on all areas of procurement, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, Best Value and Best Practice
- To develop maintain and generate information reports from management systems to report on category spend and contract performance measures for dashboards
- To fully support the activities of service areas for the procurement across specific categories
- To take the lead on performing life-cycle procurement activities, ranging from acquisition to disposition of goods and services. Keeping Council's sustainability objectives in the forefront, procurement specialist will work close with service departments in assisting them in developing specifications, conducting competitive solicitations for contractual services
- Responsible for developing and implementing innovative, efficient contracts through effective sourcing solutions
- Ensure cost, quality and delivery of service on Contracts is achieved to maximise value for money and continuous improvement across specific categories
