Aramco Overseas Company are seeking Petroleum Engineering Consultants to join their Production Technology Team, Advanced Completions and Artificial Lift Focus Areas under the Upstream Research Department, EXPEC ARC, based in the Aberdeen Technology Office in Westhill.
Applicants will be responsible for the development of new technology and tools, in both areas, for use in Saudi Arabia.

Detailed Job Description
The Advanced Completions and Artificial Lift Focus Area's develop new technology and tools for use in Saudi Arabia working both with in-house ideas and in collaboration with Universities, Research Firms, and Engineering and Manufacturing companies.
The sole objective is to unearth novel technologies in both areas and to work closely with Aramco users to discover new opportunities and bring them to reality. Projects will be covered from idea initiation to full field commercialisation.
Applicants will initiate, lead, conduct research and provide consultation in Artificial Lift, especially ESP and/or Advanced Completions both individually and/or along with a team. You will need to be proactive with regards to R&D to enable you to identify, monitor and assess new technology related to Artificial Lift or Advanced Completions which could reduce production cost, improve well performance and safety, and reduce environmental impact.
You will be expected to make discoveries that can bring significant value to Saudi Aramco by generating new ideas and projects, initiating and preparing field trial programmes for new equipment, analysis of trial results and making recommendations for design improvement and field-wide deployment.
Candidate's Profile
Candidates should hold a bachelor degree in engineering or a closely related subject with 15-20 years of combined experience in the oil industry and academia related to either Artificial Lift or Advanced Completions.
Previous R&D experience is required and this should be evidenced through publications, invited presentations, patents, professional awards and honours, and professional society activities.
With regards to completions you should have extensive experience in the area of completion tools from either an operator or service company perspective. Extensive experience in the area of completion tools development or well completion design, implementation and use.
With regards to Artificial Lift you should have broad experience and knowledge of petroleum engineering including artificial lift selection, design and optimisation, wellbore hydraulics, well completion and multiphase pumping. Extensive experience in ESP system design, field installation and diagnostics is highly essential. You will also have to have knowledge of technology limitations with vendor systems. Furthermore, applicants are required to use common nodal analysis and artificial lift design tools.
A knowledge base of latest developments in technology in either area is essential, as well as strong project management ability, outstanding analytical ability and excellent presentation skills.
