Currie & Brown is interested in speaking to experience Risk & Opportunities Managers in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Surrey and Befordshire for work on major infrastructure highways project.

Role Purpose:

To act as a source of expert advice on risk and opportunity aspects and manage activities across the relevant area. The key focus will be to provide input on areas where most benefit can be realised through a risk based approach to delivery, while considering value for money and efficiency at all times. To contribute to the development of a process improvement approach to commercial delivery. To work with colleagues to contribute to the improvement of capability in risk and opportunity expertise in the wider business.

Responsibilities:

- Providing risk assurance across a portfolio of projects

- Liaising with the supply chain and ensuring the appropriate level of risk management processes are embedded.

- Contribute to the development of management and operational risk policies

- Contribute to the development of risk strategy and functional processes

- Embed consistent processes for the management of risk within the day to day operations of the projects

- Proactively contribute to projects being delivered safely, on time and within budget through the early identification of risk and opportunity.

- Ensure that projects delivered in adherence with Employer's Requirements, standards and best practice

- Provide assurance across the qualitative and quantitative identification of risk

- Facilitate regular risk workshops for the purpose of identification, management and control of risk together with the realisation of opportunity

- Contribute to the assignment of ownership to the identified risks and opportunities

- Lead the development of quantitative identification of risk (cost and schedule); three point estimate on projects

- Embed risk mitigation, planning and tracking processes and indicators

- Lead the process mapping to guide risk management implementation

- Provide advice as to the appropriate level of contingency and float to be included in the project budget / programme to reflect identified risk.

- Provide assurance at Risk identification workshops as required and review QSRA and QCRA analyses in accordance with project or programme requirements

- Updating the risk management database with the latest risk statuses

- Understand the existing processes and client requirements in order to continually develop a best practice approach to Risk and Value Management.

- Review and audit Risk Management Plans/ Processes.

Essential Experience:

- Degree/HNC Qualified in an appropriate discipline or able to demonstrate relevant experience

- Good presentation, communication and facilitation skills

- Minimum ten years construction industry experience including a minimum of five years' experience in risk management

- Sound knowledge of industry standards and best practices in Risk Management.

- Ability to deliver quantitative risk analyses of cost using industry standard software

- Flexible as to work location and travel to meet the needs of the Business Unit and our clients

- Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Experience:

- Experienced in managing risk associated with major infrastructure or transportation projects.

- Formal Risk Management qualification-
