The Principal Ecologist is a key member of my clients Environment team. With a glowing reputation for planning and designing the cities of the future this international engineering consultancy offers innovative design for sustainable buildings, efficient infrastructure and access to clean water.
Part of an inspirational multi-disciplinary engineering business, you will report to the Head of Ecology. You yourself will manage a passionate team of ecologists, and ensure the delivery of cutting edge design and consultative advice to existing internal and external clients. You will also manage your own resources and finance budget, and as such will demonstrate technical excellence, delivery, and sound financial performance.
What are we looking for?
A degree in Ecology (or directly related subject) as well as a masters level or higher qualification.
Chartered Environmentalist or Chartered Ecologist (desirable).
Protected species experience with a minimum of two associated licences (dormouse or white clawed crayfish desirable).
Extensive experience of the production of high quality ecological assessments including EIA and HRA.
Proven ability of leading and directing teams of field surveyors on large projects.
UK ecological consultancy experience, with a strong client-orientated approach.
Excellent understanding of UK and European nature conservation legislation.
Excellent project and financial management skills.
Proven track record of developing new business.
Experience of expert witness at a planning enquiry would be an advantage
