Safety Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor
Would you like to work in a team responsible for keeping everyone safe at work? We currently have a vacancy for a Safety Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor at our site in Portsmouth Naval Base.
As a Safety Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor, you will be working across the Maritime Services business area, primarily in Naval Base Services (NBS). You will be providing professional and accurate SHE advice to ensure safe systems of work.
This role will enable you to gain wide exposure across the Maritime Services business area, building your network with a variety of people.
Your main responsibilities as a SHE Advisor will involve:
Providing professional and accurate SHE advice on the requirements of SHE legislation to the business and company procedures across Maritime Services, ensuring this is effectively translated to the business context and to agreed timescales
Conducting SHE audits and inspections in accordance with internal procedures and OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001 requirements, to agreed and communicated schedules
Investigating SHE accidents, incidents and non-conformances, producing comprehensive reports with root cause analysis in line with procedural requirements and within agreed timescales
Supporting SHE workshops that are undertaken in business areas, aligned to the schedule
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
NEBOSH diploma
Practical internal auditor skills
Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite
Accident/incident investigation skills
Safety culture behaviours
Desirable:
Sound knowledge of BAE Systems and SHE management systems
Qualified in the delivery of SHE training

You will be a good team player with a passion for SHE. You will be able to engage with a number of different groups of people and will have excellent report writing skills.
