We are currently looking for a driven Production Manager for aGlobal Tier 1 Automotive business based in Birmingham/Wolverhampton area, paying between cGBP45,000 - GBP50,000 based on experience. The business have a market leading product and supply globally in to a number of OEMs. This role will work on a standard day shift.
The Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, as Manufacturing Manager, you will have full autonomy for the management and leadership of a team of around 100 Production operatives as well as Team / Shift Leaders. The responsibility covers everything from; achieving KPIs, quality levels, ensuring exemplary health and safety of your team and delivering all this at the minimum costs. The main focus for this role is on improving the manufacturing operation performance and helping to support CI and lean manufacturing. This role will demand good process knowledge and involvement in new product introduction making sure that all the required systems and procedures are in place and adhered to in NPI.
The Person
It is essential that candidates have -

Experience of working in an automotive manufacturing environment
*
At least 4 years of managing teams with a minimum headcount of 50
*
A driven, can do and motivational attitude to work
*
An understanding of basic improvement techniques
*
Experience of using LEAN tools
*
The ability to prioritise workloads and volumes
Ideally candidates should be -
*
Educated to a minimum of HNC or HND level but preferably degree
*
Experience with assembly processes
*
Well versed with Takt, line balancing, cycle times and process flow
