Dynamic and proactive Policy & Advocacy Manager for Wales sought for national hospice care charity

Hospice UK is looking for an experienced and creative Policy & Advocacy Manager to help drive its strategic aims in Wales.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Policy & Advocacy, the Policy and Advocacy Manager Wales will develop policy positions, identify routes to positive change, influence decision makers, and build partnerships in the interests of people at the end of life and their families and carers, alongside our member hospices, as we work towards our vision of hospice care for every person in need.

This is a new role at Hospice UK, and comes at a time of significant development as we launch our strategy for 2017-2022. This is a great role in which to help us drive our vision and play a leading role the strategic direction of hospice and end of life care in Wales.

This is a permanent part-time role (21 hours per week).

The candidate

We are seeking a confident self-starter who is able to manage the complexity of establishing a new policy presence in Wales and creating opportunities to achieve our policy and advocacy ambitions. The right candidate will be a self-motivated, resilient, creative and experienced policy and advocacy professional.

You will have solid experience in policy, with a strong track record of achieving positive policy change. You will be strategic, dynamic and bursting with ideas, as well as having excellent judgement and a well-honed ability to deal sensitively with a range of stakeholders.

Location:

The role will be based at George Thomas Hospice Care in Whitchurch, Cardiff, with the support of the Hospice UK team in London and regular visits from colleagues.
