Senior Project Manager- Tier 1 Main Contractor 
Southampton, Hampshire 
Salary £70,000 to £90,000 + Car / Allowance + 25 days Holiday + Pension 

A respected Tier 1 Main Contractor is looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to support the Southampton Build business. The main purpose of the role is to take full responsibility for the delivery of new build projects up to a value of circa £50m in the Health, Education, Office and Retail sectors. This includes the management of Clients, Consultants and Stakeholders. 
 
You will be joining a leading property, residential, construction and services group which invests in, builds, maintains and renews the places where we work, live and play. They operate (globally) across a range of sectors including defence, education, health, housing, industrials, power, transport and utilities. Listed on the London Stock Exchange , we are a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index . 
 
Responsibilities:
As Senior Project Manager you will be site based working in Woking managing a £20 million complex city canter office refurbishment, this project has restricted access and will be challenging. 
Where necessary, lead the pre-construction team through the tender period. 
Assist in the preparation of submission/presentation documentation. 
Be the Team Leader on the project and develop a successful team ethic on site. 
Apply the performance management procedures for direct reports in the site team. 
Liaise with the Client and their advisors to fully understand their needs and expectations. 
Be responsible for instructing and co-ordinating Designers, Technical Consultants and Sub-contractors during the contract period. 
Ensure that with the Surveyor the risk mitigation strategy is effectively managed. 
Comply with company procedures exercising financial control throughout the project. 
Produce the Contract Programme, short term programmes, as built programmes and monitor / report progress as required. 
Resolve technical problems ensuring work is carried out to the correct specification and QA standards. 
 
 
Individual: 
Degree or equivalent 
Chartered membership of relevant professional body 
Have a detailed knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and expectations of an UKCG contractor 
Proactive style, good administration and problem solving skills
