You're Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you are a Production Engineer with personal responsibility for the implementation of quality and productivity improvements to new and existing production processes.
You're Goal
Eliminate process related non-conformities via the innovative design, specification and realisation of poke-yoke plant, equipment, tooling and components. Review, modify, and implement new and existing production process designs to accept these improvements that reduce in-process non-value added operator activities to an absolute minimum.
You're Objectives
•,Work collaboratively with the Quality Engineer to identify and prioritise process related product quality defects and review and understand their root cause.
•,Work collaboratively with Production Operators to understand process related difficulties that present a significant risk to their ability to produce product assemblies that are right first time to specification.
•,Use your skills and innovation to design or specify process plant, equipment and tooling; or propose physical component design changes, that will eliminate the risk of process related defects.
•,Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineering or, where necessary, external specialist contractors; to establish final costed specifications and proposals for your improvement initiatives.
•,Implement your improvement initiatives to the production process and create visual set up standards that instruct the operator how to install and set all items of plant, equipment and tooling provided.
•,Assist the Quality Engineer to create visual Methods of Manufacture that instruct the operator how to carry out the operations that are necessary to realise the defect free value-added assembly that your improvement initiative intended.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
•,Production or process engineering experience in an electro-mechanical assembly environment.
•,Experience of delivering process improvements using lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
•,Quality conscious with experience of undertaking PFMEA's to identify and implement improvement.
•,Recognised qualification in production or process engineering (Ideally BSc. HND/HNC considered).
•,Organised, self-motivated and capable of multi-tasking. AutoCAD and Microsoft Office literate.
