Senior Practice Accountant

Our client, an Accountancy Practice based in the Sheffield area are currently looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their team. Reporting directly to Partners, key responsibilities will include:

* Dealing with clients who range from Sole Traders to Partnerships
* Preparation of statutory accounts using IRIS. Bank/Cash book reconciliation, ledger controls, prepayment and accrual journals, reconciling intercompany accounts. Payroll reconciliation.
* Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers
* Corporation Tax return preparation using IRIS
* Preparation of Management Accounts
* Review and interrogate P&L and Balance Sheet. Preparation of accruals/prepayments.
* Bookkeeping using Sage 50 accounts/Excel. Inputting sales/purchase invoices generally on a monthly or quarterly basis and inputting and reconciling bank transactions.
* Preparation of VAT returns (cash and invoice accounting and flat rate schemes) from bookkeeping records and submission to HMRC.
* Preparation of personal tax returns and partnership returns.
* Overseeing junior staff by reviewing work and providing feedback before Partner review.
