A bit about us

We may have started small, but we’ve always had very big ideas. We launched in 2001 and we just haven’t stopped; a years’ worth of achievements always seems more like three at AO.

Our customers are now our biggest advocates, and we’ve made millions of them happy. We’ve even launched in new territories throughout Europe. Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves.

But, we’re determined to be the best electrical retailer in Europe, and for that, you need to be driven. We need to be bold enough to try new things, and smart enough to see them through. We need to care about people, and we always like to have a little fun as we do it.

More about the role

In this role, you will be joining the UAT Team (or User Acceptance Testing Team to give it its full title!). User Acceptance Testing is the final stage of the web development process. This role means you will be working as part of a driven team whose responsibility is to ensure that all AO websites maintain the high aesthetic, user experience and technical standards that our customers have come to enjoy and expect. You’ll be working closely with designers and developers as we unleash new and exciting functionality into the world. As we continue to grow on our mission to become the best electrical retailer in Europe, this team is vital to the success of AO.

Here's what you can expect to be doing

- Checking merchandise and promotion updates across our sites, making sure our customers get the right information at the right time.

- Supporting the release of major marketing campaigns.

- Liaising with our analytics team to put together reports on the latest mobile and tablet devices – if our customers are using them, then we’ll be using them too!

- Communicating with our international teams in Germany and the Netherlands.

- Finding and terminating any bugs!

When you’re not working hard you’ll get the chance to have fun on our residential team building days, support some of the biggest charities in the country, maybe doing a spot of DIY SOS or helping to build a children’s play park. This is on top of some of our regular perks like onsite Starbucks, free breakfasts and snacks, use of an onsite spa and the chance to attend some of amazing events throughout the year.
