Hours: Mon -Thurs 8.30 am - 5.30 pm & Fri 8.30 am - 4.30 pm

Job Role:

The company is looking for a qualified motor vehicle technician to join their busy Technical department, to;

  • Support customers to identify the correct part for their application via electronic catalogues and internal databases
  • Represent the appropriate brand when responding to any one of ten technical helplines in a professional and polite manor
  • Handle cross referencing queries from the technical Help lines and from within the team
  • Draft technical bulletins
  • Record calls in the Technical support database ensuring they are logged correctly and followed up through to completion
  • Produce technical articles for external publication
  • Liaise with suppliers and Product Managers over product technical issues to bring about rapid resolutions
  • Investigate customer queries regarding application, fitting and operation of company supplied parts and accessories
  • Warranty claim processing.
  • Validation of new product specification prior to introduction.
  • Initiate product recalls

The Candidate:

As you will be helping motor factors and garages to identify the correct parts and to resolve technical issues, primarily over the phone, the ability to think logically and talk to customers both technically and simply is a big part of the role. (Don't worry there is no cold calling). Recent experience of electronic diagnosis, over and above just reading fault codes is also a benefit. The Technical Team also get involved with warranty claim processing, new product validation, Technical Bulletin and marketing literature preparation, so no two days are ever the same and you need to be adaptable.

The role is office based, so has regular hours Monday to Friday, great holiday allowance and other company benefits. You must have the highest professional standards and excellent customer communications skills in order to fill this challenging and rewarding position.
