East Anglia
c.GBP50,000 -GBP60,000 plus bonus and benefits
My client is a very successful and highly customer focused fmcg food manufacturer, with an impressive portfolio of clients. This is hardly surprising when you consider their range of products which have s an excellent reputation for both quality and innovation. Continued business growth and success has now meant that the operation needs to go through a cultural change process to meet the future needs of the business to take the evolution of the company to its next exciting phase of development. They therefore require a highly experienced highly visible, supportive and 'hands on' Engineering Manager who works closely with Operations to transform standards and implement robust maintenance practices that will maximise machine capability, empower staff and deliver world class performance.
Experience of computerised PPM systems and building up a sufficient maintenance history to measure efficiencies and performance will be critical to devise a robust maintenance strategy. You will therefore be someone that ensures the meticulous recording of PPM and breakdown activity to get a real pulse on plant effectiveness and when and where to direct proactive measures that will enhance uptime.
As a highly professional and CI focused Engineering Manager you like to lead by example and are able to gain buy in from both your team and peers. Coaching and development will be a strength as well as the ability to empower staff to fulfil their potential. You will be someone who not only enjoys delivering a first class Engineering service to the business but also thinks about the bigger strategic picture on how to improve the site and its performance. You will therefore be either a Maintenance Manager or Engineering Manager working in a lean environment looking for your next exciting career challenge., with a company that is willing to invest in the best equipment and its people to maintain its competitive edge.
The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with strong influencing and communication skills who has a passion for the continuous improvement journey. You will be a FMCG food focused Maintenance Engineering Manager/Engineering Manager who really enjoys 'making a difference' and thrives on working within an environment that is extremely team focused with a very positive management team and culture. Experience of managing Projects and Site Services would be advantageous.
To summarise:
Experience of introducing and developing OEE, PPM, Autonomous Maintenance
CI focused - proven track record of taking cost out of the business
Developing and multi skilling teams
FMCG food sector experience
Minimising downtime and process improvement projects
A proven track record of taking cost out of the business
Able to add value via strategic input to improve site standards and performance
Great communicator at all levels, from shopfloor to managers
Coach/Mentoring style, great influencing skills
The role is with a company that has a very supportive senior management team and the culture is very positive on site. Standards are good and the workforce feel engaged .An additional bonus will be a capex project which will enhance production output and efficiencies. As well as an exceptional culture the remuneration and benefits package is attractive, the company see this role as potentially a very good stepping stone into Operations Management if that is something that you aspire to.
