Head of Estimating and Proposals
A leading UK water & waste water company are currently in the market for a Head of Estimating and Proposals to join its UK head office as it begins a new billion pound project in the Middle East. The company specialises in the designing, building, operating and overall maintenance of water supplies, effluent treatment and desalination plants.
You will be joining a company that prides itself on improving the quality of water and sanitisation of wastewater across the world.

THE CANDIDATE
Head of Estimating and Proposals
Essential Experience:
• Civil Engineering background
• Previous Quantity surveying / Estimating experience
• 10 -15 years estimating experience
• Experience working within either Water, Oil & Gas, Petrochem etc
• Knowledge of FIDIC contract documents would be a bonus
• Experience working on large scale process plants and construction projects
• Past experience of leading or managing a team
THE ROLE
Head of Estimating and Proposals
I am currently looking for a Head of Estimating and Proposals for a well established business specialising in supplying water treatment infrastructures to overseas countries to not only manage Senior Estimators, but also be fairly hands on and lead by example. We are looking for someone to manage and produce estimates for international tenders / projects based in the Middle East, Hong Kong, Cameroon etc.
Other duties include:
• Preparation of civil estimates for a 1 billion + project among other very large projects internationally - Middle East, Iraq, Hong Kong, Cameroon etc.
• Review team undertake reviews, risk analysis and make amendments to estimates prepared by the company's overseas offices.
• Preparation and presentation of reports and recommendations on key technical/commercial issues of internal estimate summaries and active participation in tender review meetings.
• Proactive liaison with UK and overseas proposals, sales and engineering staff to maximise co-ordination and communication.
• From time to time take a lead in the preparation of high value, high level, budget estimates, based on outline information.
