3rd Line Support Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced (and passionate!) 3rd Line Support Engineer to join an award-winning software house in North London. The 3rd Line Support Engineer will be located onsite where you will not only be supporting the internal international Windows infrastructure and Data Centres, but you will also be responsible for delivering project-based work within the organization. The successful 3rd Line Support Engineer on a variety of systems and technologies that are critical to the operation of the business and the delivery of projects and ongoing service to internationally based clients.

What will you be doing?

- Customer facing, service-orientated - technical support role, supporting internal users
- 3rd Line Technical Support and escalations of internal IT Systems
- Lifecycle technical management of systems, including maintenance, upgrades and decommissioning
- Training and mentoring junior colleagues in the delivery of quality technical support and service
- Implementing IT projects and tasks, taking ownership and responsibility for work undertaken
- Hardware fault diagnosing, reporting issues/problems to hardware supplier
- Supporting internal users and resolving reported technical issues
- Support desktop engineers when required with rollout of workstations, and to provide assistance to desktop engineers when workload is high.

What Tech skills do you need for this 3rd Line Support Engineer position?

- Minimum of 4 years` experience in a Support position - some experience in a specific 2nd / 3rd Line Support Engineer position is crucial
- Experience of providing support for medium to large enterprises in multi-platform environments
- Detailed knowledge and experience supporting and maintaining:
- Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Remote Desktop Services/Terminal Services, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Office 2013, 2016, Office365 or Microsoft Exchange, Virtualization technologies, including building hypervisors from bare metal
- Taking ownership of escalated issues and an interest to work within both the Support and DevOps team
- Genuine interest in tech as well as emerging trends and technologies
- Initiative and drive for self-development beyond company assisted training and mentoring
