Starting in 1946 as Southern Counties Car Auctions, we were one of the first companies to let people across the UK buy and sell a wide range of cars at auction, from budget run-arounds to exotic imports.At our first auction we sold 14 cars and generated proceeds of GBP2,300; today we sell more than one million vehicles annually and are Europe's largest vehicle re-marketing company.The Assistant Accountant Role:Based at our Doncaster Depot, the Assistant Accountant will be part of a busy and motivated Management Accounts team responsible for managing the weekly and monthly accounting process for a number of companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the weekly and monthly financial reporting of one of these companies in particular which has an annual turnover of +GBP10m but also for tasks across the other companies. The role would ideally suit a recently qualified AAT student or a part qualified accountant who is looking for their first move out of practice or second move within industry.Reporting to the Transport Accountant, the post holder's key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:+ Preparation and reporting of weekly and monthly accounts including revenue recognition, cost analysis, profit generation+ Reporting of key performance indicators and their impact of financial performance+ Preparing month end journals+ Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations+ Co-ordination of monthly group recharges+ Supporting the Transport Accountant on ad-hoc analysis, reporting, modelling and projects as requiredPerson Specification:The ideal candidate will be or possess;+ Currently studying towards an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA)+ The ability to travel to other company sites as required+ Effective Communication skills at all levels+ A high level of attention to detail+ First rate analytical skills+ Proficient in the use of Excel+ Capability to work as part of a teamInterested?
