Project Technician / Project Design Engineer - Automatic and Industrial Door Systems

Salary: Competitive Plus Benefits

This Project Technician vacancy is based in Alfreton, Derbyshire but may suit relevant candidates living in any of the nearby locations

Due to our recent success and growth plans we are now looking to recruit a Project Technician to join our team in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Project Technician Role:

To work closely with the head of manufacturing, the field team and customers to project manage all Industrial and Auto projects from placement of order through to final account.

The successful Project Technician will be responsible for the following:

- To ensure the final design for the customer meets all requirements and specifications
- To ensure all materials are fully costed in relation to the job prior to invoicing
- To create accurate drawings in line with company standards
- To provide technical support to the business.
- To ensure all possible variations are tracked and costed and invoicing / applications are carried out in a timely fashion.
- To minimise waste; reduce risk to reduce repetitive errors.
- To take appropriate remedial action to resolve customer disputes with minimal cost to the business
- Create and maintain production bills of material in costs in conjunction with the materials purchasing system and the production and materials controller function for our directly manufactured products

The successful Project Technician will be/have:

- High level of all round Industry knowledge, including competitors and products. IT skills, in particular CAD to support accurate drawings, fulfillment with continuous development and learning.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

- 1 year or greater experience in 2D Autocad draughting,
- Broad range of experience of the construction and mechanical engineering industry
- Able use spreadsheets and other common software packages
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a similar construction/manufacturing industry role
- Experience of regular interaction with customers.
- Experience of regular interaction with customers.
