Location : Home, client, office based - flexible location e.g. Kendal, Barrow in Furness, Penrith, Preston, South Lakes

On offer : GBP40,000 - GBP46,000, bonus (10-15%+), benefits

MacArthur Recruitment are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Investment Executive to provide growth capital, by way of funding from the Northern Powerhouse, to Cumbrian based companies, organisations and entrepreneur's. You will be responsible for sourcing, appraising and making loan and mezzanine investments into SMEs in the North of England. Loan values are typically between GBP100k and GBP750k.

Role summary

This is a customer facing business development role where you have the flexibility to work between home, customer meetings, or, on occasion the Penrith or Preston offices. The focus is with South Lakes companies, from Kendal, Barrow in Furness, Oxenholme, Ulverston, Sellafied, etc., however you can cover the whole of Cumbria if desired - Penrith, Carlisle, Whitehaven, Bowness, Keswick, etc..

Ideally you will have a finance or capital background in the Corporate or Commercial SME market, perhaps with some existing traction and contacts in the region that you can build on. The role provides you with autonomy to run your own role and success, within performance criteria agreed with your line manager. The company holds to a flat and dynamic structure allowing flexible, fast and professional business decisions - enabling your growth and progression.

You will work with Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEP's), Banks, Networking and other introducers to discover funding needs through proactive business development.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience for the role of Investment Executive

• Previous venture capital, leveraged finance or corporate finance experience within the Corporate and Commercial SME market.
• Understanding of all aspects relating to debt and mezzanine investments into SMEs or larger Corporates.
• Understanding of risk assessment and investment processes and procedures.
• Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
• Extensive network of relevant key business introducers in the area of operation.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Confident in own decision making.
• Ability to prioritise and organise work under pressure.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience of analysing financial information.
• Accountancy or banking qualifications ideally.

Desirable

• Knowledge and understanding of the role of the public sector in SME finance
• Understanding of the regional business environment
