++ Excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer ideally with CNC routing, Vacuum forming, tooling manufacture & assembly experience to provide technical cost estimates to inbound client specs ++

The Manufacturing Costing Engineer Opportunity:

Reporting into the Sales Manager the Engineering Estimator will be responsible for the review, calculation and pricing of incoming RFQ’s, across multiple company departments.

The role-holder will be required to:

+ Provide accurate and competitive quotes within deadline, that meet customer expectation and achieve company margin targets. 
+ Mitigate risks associated with contractual obligations & ensure all quotes are in line with company quote framework
+ Manage customer relationships from receipt of RFQ to production integration.

Costing / Estimating:

+ Interpret customers engineering data to ensure all aspects of the requested works are captured.
+ Issue competitive quotes ensuring all costs are accurately captured that meet customer requirements & achieve agreed company margin. 
+ Provide helpful, proactive and customer focused service on all incoming RFQ’s
+ Ensure RFQ deadlines are successfully met with clear and professional presentation
+ Timely follow up of customer quotations to secure orders or establish the reasons why customer is not proceeding. 
+ Accurate record keeping and filing of all quotation packs.
+ Assess and prioritise the flow of incoming RFQ’s to best meet customer deadlines
+ Capture & address within quotations, all risks, contractual obligations, & conditions. Ensure all works are within company capability.
+ Conduct negotiations to maximise orders and margin
+ Make recommendations for improvements to quotation processes and implement agreed improvements
+ Ensure the smooth transition of orders won, to the account management team, making the correct customer introductions where applicable
+ Perform handover reviews to ensure orders are set up as per the quote criteria
+ Positive participation in internal / external audit process & swiftly address any findings

Other Skills Required:

+ Previous quotation experience essential 
+ Customer focused communication skills
+ Strong engineering background that covers many disciplines
+ Competent in the use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word
+ Excellent interpersonal skills
+ Strong team player with “can do” attitude
+ Attention to detail 
+ Ability to plan and organise own workload to achieve deadlines & targets
+ Able to work under pressure
+ Sound business acumen
+ Previous experience of Vacuum forming, CNC routing and machining, tooling manufacture & assembly works preferable
