Introduction
CBL Limited provides IT solutions, analytics, data management services and web solutions to support critical decision-making in Healthcare, Finance and Insurance sectors.
Currently we are looking for Database developer for our UK operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Database developer within the team, you will be given an understanding of the company’s IT products, services & infrastructure. You will be part of an energetic team continuously engaged in improving the stack of offerings with focus on maintaining and enhancing our suite of Business Intelligence (BI) products and programming.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Ownership, design and implementation of Database & BI solutions
- Processing different data source systems using standard ETL processes
- IT system enhancements to enable the build/release process
- Shape solutions with key stakeholders and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other Tech leads to ensure integrated end-to-end design
- Document technical and functional specifications, Business requirements, gap analysis
- Integrate and deploy model and BI products changes
- Automating, Scheduling and Monitoring the Daily/Weekly and Monthly loads
- Optimise database performance (indexing, schema setting, query optimisation, etc)
- Ensure best practice leading by example
- Support system and UAT testing.
- Data quality assurance and data analysis
- Information flow analysis
- Installing and managing Clustering (Always on SQL 2012/14)
- Define and implement backup and recovery strategy
Skill Set Required
- Programming environments – You will have worked to engineer data centric products in multiple paradigms and have demonstrable experience of complex programming. You will have demonstrable experience of using SQL and working knowledge of C#.
- Appreciation of data – You will have worked with meaningful data previously in a mission critical environment and be familiar with the techniques employed to ensure that this content is always of high quality.
- Working environment – You will be comfortable attacking complex challenges in many ways, as a team member.
- Quality and security – You will understand, respect and reinforce the importance of quality processes in the product development process. You will have demonstrable experience of using your initiative to improve the quality, robustness and accuracy of deliverables.
- Inter-Personal Skills – You should have demonstrable communication skills, problem-solving and “can-do” attitude.
Essential Experience
- Hands –on knowledge of Kimball Methodology & Agile methodology
- Proven experience of database administration
- Data warehousing Concepts
- T-SQL or PL/SQL programming skills and best practices
- SSIS or Other ETL Tools (Informatica/ODI)
- SQL database ownership and management
- Data-Visualization tools SSRS/Spotfire
- Versioning Control tools – Microsoft Visual Source Safe, WinCVS, TFS etc
- Scheduling Tools – SQL Server Agent, Control-M, Autosys etc
- Data Quality Tools like IDQ, DQS
- SSAS/OLAP
- Migration of data between in-house and third party systems
- Create and maintain documentation
- MS Excel , C# programming
- Content management of large datasets and build macros
Desired Experience
- XML/XQuery
- Low level programming languages
- Training Skills
- Team Foundation Server ( TFS )
- Programming performance optimisation – data queries and/or software functions
- Any Database and Reporting Certifications
Education Qualifications
- Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Preferred - Master of Science
