Do you hold a degree in life sciences, nursing, paramedics or physiotherapy? Perhaps you are a nurse or theatre technician or midwife looking for a new challenge in a non clinical environment? We are seeking two candidates to join a leading insurer based in Taunton to work as Senior Clinical Case Managers.

The role will involve analysing medical cases, often of a challenging and complex nature, to ensure the right decision is made for customers. If successful you will be responsible for answering a range of queries and providing sound medical advice, in line with the latest clinical guidance to customers. The role will involve liaising with patients, specialists, medical advisers and colleagues in order to ensure the customer receives the best possible service and escalated queries are dealt with efficiently. You will get the opportunity to continue to use your medical expertise/ qualifications as you will provide relevant training to other business areas and be involved with drafting complex communication/ case documents on behalf of senior managers. Your role will also involve research to support claim decisions and producing management information reports concerning high value payments, large claims and long stay patients.

To be considered for this position you will need to hold a relevant medical qualification, for example a degree in life sciences or nursing or significant medical experience, for example gained as a paramedic or theatre technician. Knowledge of either cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology or psychology is essential. You will need great customer/ patient care skills and have the ability to pay high attention to detail. Good knowledge of IT systems including email, internet and Microsoft packages is essential.
