Support Workers - Night & Day Work (full-time, part-time & casual)
Dartington, Nr Totnes
£8.00 - £8.75 per hour (+ additional premium for night duty) Plus Pension, Full Training, Childcare Vouchers, Staff Discount Scheme, 28 Days’ Holiday

Are you a friendly and enthusiastic individual with an easy going attitude and great communication skills looking to embark on a rewarding career? If so, this is an amazing opportunity to join a successful charity that is dedicated to making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

With 20 years of success, our client provides a wide range of programmes and services to support children and young adults with learning disabilities.

There are now a number of Support Worker opportunities at our client’s residential and short breaks home in Dartington, working across various shifts including full-time day and night shifts, early to school part-time shifts and if you are unable to commit to contracted hours, casual work which can offer you greater flexibility with the hours you work.

As a Support Worker taking a friendly and empathetic approach, you’ll help to deliver a 24/7, high level support package to children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs at our client’s residential and short breaks home in Dartington.

You’ll enable children and young people to achieve their goals, targets and aspirations within a safe, welcoming and fun environment, in-line with their care plan.

Interested? Ideally you will have previous experience in this type of environment and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Though this qualification is by no means essential, a willingness to gain the level 3 diploma within 2 years is required.

You’ll be provided with full training and ongoing support in your role to ensure that you achieve your professional ambitions and have the skills you need to deliver an outstanding level of care.

Our client is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and they expect all staff to share their commitment. As such, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

In accordance with care standards legislation, applicants need to be 21 years or over to apply, as this is a requirement for all staff that are given sole responsibility for children. Within this requirement, no person is able to work in a children’s home unless they are at least four years older than the oldest child accommodated.

Please note, the closing date for applications is Wednesday, 26th April 2017. Interviews will be scheduled for the week commencing Monday 1st May, 2017.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop an engaging career with a forward-thinking not-for-profit organisation. Apply today!
