IT Technical Solutions Consultant / Business Systems Analyst with experience leading small scale projects within a formal project management environment that has previously worked as an Application Developer and has experience with VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net, VBA, SQL Server and Java is required by a leading Charity based in Reading, Berkshire.

SALARY: £35,900 - £38,000 per annum

DOGS: Due to the nature of the organisation there are frequently dogs on site. Therefore you must be comfortable with dogs in the workplace.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Broad understanding of the programming applications and languages including SQL Server, Java, VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net, VBA along with solid analysis and design knowledge. You will hold a Degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience. You will be an MCITP Database Developer or equivalent, or have proven relevant work experience. Ideally you’ll have an understanding of PRINCE2 project management methodology, be an ITIL practitioner, or have an MCPD or MCITP or equivalent. Business Intelligence Development experience would also be advantageous.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Technical Solutions Consultant / Business Systems Analyst with experience leading small scale projects within a formal project management environment that has previously worked as an Application Developer and has experience with VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net, VBA, SQL Server and Java.

Working as the IT Technical Solutions Consultant / Business Systems Analyst you will provide consultancy and support in the use and enhancement of existing systems. This will also include providing advice and guidance on the selection of future business systems, and the effective use of business information. In particular, the organisation is looking for someone to support the development and implementation of the Microsoft Office 365 technologies including SharePoint and Microsoft Power BI.

As the IT Technical Solutions Consultant / Business Systems Analyst you’ll be responsible for ensuring the on-going operational functionality and efficiency of the organisation's core business systems, ensuring they are managed, developed and supported in an effective manner and therefore, not compromising the user communities ability to conduct their work.

You will be working closely with IS colleagues and clients in a challenging and changing environment. You will also assist with the application implementation within projects, in particular within the areas of application configuration, system and unit testing, but also provide leadership in the work of application support for enhancements or general maintenance of existing applications.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the IT Technical Solutions Consultant / Business Systems Analyst:

  • Work with business teams and third party suppliers to implement key business systems throughout the organisation
  • Support current bespoke applications providing analysis, design and relational database expertise
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server applications to meet business needs
  • Responsible for partnering the business and working with Users to investigate, design and deliver technical solutions to operational problems through improvements in information systems and data management

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • You need an enthusiastic, positive and assertive approach with an ability to communicate your vision to both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Broad understanding of systems, programming applications and languages including SQL Server, Java, VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net and VBA
  • Solid analysis and design knowledge
  • You will hold a Degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience
