Our client designs and manufactures precision forged and machined components in their fully integrated facility in the heart of the UK. Joining them as Head of Business, you will be accountable for combining and processing the production system inputs which include manpower, machines, methods and materials to deliver sustainable results in safety, quality, delivery and cost through their people.

Managing a team of circa 60 people, you will oversee the machine shop and metrology and be responsible for an operating budget of circa £3m. Leading, guiding and coaching in line with vision mission and values, you will ensure the working environment is compliant with company policy and EHS directives whilst standardising processes and ensuring consistent application.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have technical machining experience and strong leadership traits to help us achieve our progression and succession planning goals. Able to demonstrate a successful portfolio of achievements and with experience of leading a large scale industrial operation, you will have excellent decision making and prioritisation skills and be able to communicate well at all levels of the business.

Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, production techniques and strategy deployment is a pre-requisite, as is a good understanding of planning and project management. Those who hold a Degree / HN qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Business Analysis are highly desirable however this is not essential.
