Full/Part Time Optical Assistant

We have Full Time and Part Time Optical Assistant roles available to join our friendly team, working within one of the North East’s largest and most successful independent chains of opticians.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is polite, well presented, friendly and dedicated to offering exceptional customer service.  The ideal candidate will be a quick learner that is keen to progress and who is looking for a long term career opportunity. Experience in optical dispensing is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.  In this role you will be involved in customer service/patient care, administration, optical dispensing, stock control, cash handling and keeping the practice clean/tidy.  There are routes for progression within our business for those that do well in training and show aptitude; such as dispensing and supervisory roles.

As well as excellent people skills, you will have strong communication skills, a basic working knowledge of MS Office products (such as Word and Outlook) and you will have at least a basic level of numeracy skills.  You should be educated to GCSE level, including Maths and English grade C or above, however consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate sufficient literacy/numerical skills.

Primarily you will be based in our Durham City Centre practice however you will be required to provide cover in our Lanchester, Prudhoe and Ryton practices. As such, the ability to drive and your own transport is essential for this position

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.
