Optical Dispensing Assistant

We have a Full Time Optical Dispensing Assistant role available within one of the North East’s largest and most successful independent chains of opticians.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Dispensing Assistant.  You should be professional, well presented, friendly and dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.  The ideal candidate will be keen to progress within our company and will be looking for a long term career opportunity.  Experience in optical dispensing is essential for this position although there will be some internal training provided.   

In this role your main duties will be dispensing for our optometrists however you will also be involved in customer service/patient care, administration, stock control, cash handling and keeping the practice clean/tidy. 

As well as excellent people skills you will have strong communication skills, a basic working knowledge of MS Office products (such as Word and Outlook) and you will have at least a basic level of numeracy skills.  You should be educated to GCSE level, including Maths and English grade C or above, however consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate sufficient literacy/numerical skills.

Primarily you will be required to work between our Lanchester, Prudhoe, Ryton and Durham practices. As such, the ability to drive and your own transport is essential for this position.
