Trainee Paralegal
Acorn Recruitment is seeking candidates with a Law Degree to work for their client, a well established Law firm in North Bristol. This position is based in the plot sales department of the firm. The starting salary for this position is GBP17,000 per annum.
To provide a full and efficient service within the department exercising confidentiality and client care at all times.
Initially to provide support and cover generally for the fee earner(s) and other team members within the department with a view to taking on more responsibility for files. Training and assistance will be given.
Routine duties:
- Typing of correspondence, contracts and documents as instructed by the Fee Earner and which may include dictation and documents generated by case management system.
- Opening new files as and when instructed and processing reservations.
Photocopying of plans and other documents.
- Providing assistance to clients and external solicitors by giving up to date information as and when appropriate.
- Identifying the urgency of phone calls and ensuring messages are brought to the attention of the Fee Earner and, if appropriate, (depending on capabilities) take action.
- Updating databases and directories where appropriate.
- Ensuring files are kept tidy and up to date and all Risk Management and Compliance procedures complied with.
- Closing and archiving files when matter is completed . Checking nil balance with Accounts and confirming destruction date with Fee Earner.
